It does not take any special skills to build a computer. The builds I posted are tower only, no OS. Remember in your budget you may also need such things as a keyboard, mouse, monitor, Windows 8 64bit, speakers, Wifi USB dongle, TV tuner card and so on. It's very tempting and I'm definately going to sleep over itĪnyway thanks for the extensive advise :) I have always been a console girl but since having a "decent" pc I really get the die hard pc gamers :) If I would do it I would definately go for bigger and better than the consoles. You do however have a good point with the comparison with the next generation consoles. Shipping may be a little bit more but still. I couldn't buy an iPhone for that and frankly even if I could I wouldn't even think about it.

The price is quite a temptation too, considering I live in Europe. I'm thinking of begging my wizz kid nephew but I'm still going to need him in the future and this may be a big thing to ask :) However I fear I just don't have the skills to put one together. Good for now, *probably* as-good-as or better-than the new consoles & can upgrade. This has a GPU at least 2 times better than your laptop GPU. On the bright side though it is totally easy to upgrade and as soon as something falls short you can get it back up on top for a few $100 at most.

Super cheap, will do for now, not future proof & GPU likely can't keep up with new PS4 / XB1 consoles.

You can build a pretty cheap desktop that will do it nicely AND be completely able to upgrade again in the future. You can probably NOT upgrade your laptop graphics card. So if it's not running well then you know the graphics card is the problem and that is why you have to run low settings, resolutions or can't run.

Your CPU is certainly good enough but the GT 635M graphics card sucks. Um one thing, you graphics card might not be good enough.
